I thought that I would start 2008 off right and start posting on my site more often
I've seen this go around a view blogs, so I thought I would give it a try.

The South Lake Union Streetcar
Friday, December 14, 2007
I got a chance to ride Seattle'e new street car yesterday. It's a pretty small line so far, only going from Westlake Mall to Fred Hutch Ctr, but it's definitely nice to see a form of transit in Seattle that doesn't have a loud diesel engine and rubber tires.
Check out the pics I took during my voyage on the first day of operations.

Cool Ferrari Video

Check out this commercial for Shell that features a couple of Ferrari F1 race cars! The whine of the engines are the best part of the whole clip.
The finest cars on earth indeed.

Seafair Sprint Triathlon - 2007
Tuesday, July 17, 2007
This past Sunday, the 15th I competed in the Seafair sprint triathlon. This was the 3rd time that I'd done this race so I pretty much knew what to expect from the course before hand. It consisted of a 1/2 mile swim in Lake Washington at Seward Park, a 12 mile bike ride down Lake Washington Blvd. to Mercer Island and back, and then a 5k run through the park again.
I started the swim in the back of the pack but found myself moving to the outside to pass everyone faster than I expected even though I hadn't had any swim training in a couple months. Towards the end of the swim when it was getting shallower I started to get caught in the Milfoil but eventually made it to the beach where I got my bike stuff on and started the trek to Mercer Island and back.
I managed to pass a lot of people and not get passed by too many people due to me joining the Byrne Invent - Jet City Velo Cycling Club this past fall. The ride was pretty uneventful and I made it back in no time for my last transition to the run.
When I got off my bike, my legs were pretty sore so I decided to do a quick stretch before going off to the run. I got my shoes on and started down the trail to the end of the race. My calves felt sore at first because of the transition from biking to running but after 5 min it was a normal run. The only really hard part of the run was from mile 2 to 2.5. This was a giant hill, which as soon as i started to go up, it immediately felt like someone poured cement into my legs. Luckily, I did not stop to walk and made it up the hill. Coming down the hill was great because it actually got my pace a little faster due to the nice push from going downhill. I quickly finished the last half mile and the race to the finish line. Woo Hoo!
Overall, I was very happy with my time and if I just put a little training in, I could easily make it into the top 5-10 of my age group for a similar distance tri. I can't wait to try a few other courses!

Cycling to work on Friday, the 13th
Saturday, July 14, 2007
Since the weather was so great this week I decided to end the work week by riding my bike to work at the Microsoft Redmond campus from my place near Gasworks Park. I also decided instead of riding to Montlake and hopping on the 545, I would take the long but more scenic route through the arboretum and across I-90, Mercer Island, and criscrossing through Bellevue untill I eventually get to Redmond. This proved to be my critical mistake. For, right about when I was crossing into Bellevue from Mercer Island it started raining and I mean thunderstorm crazy raining. It took me another 15 min to alter my route and ride to the downtown Bellevue transit station, where I promptly hopped on a bus that took me the rest of the way to work. I probably would have made it all the way in the rain but I was worried about my laptop and work clothes getting soaked.
I guess I wont be riding my bike to work on the next Friday, the 13th.

Indoor Time Trial
Wednesday, December 20, 2006
Last night I went to an indoor time trial at CycleU. The time trial consisted of 6.2 miles of rolling and a few somewhat steeper hills. They also use the CompuTrainer bike trainers so all of your cycling vitals like speed, wattage, heart rate, as well as your location in relationship to everyone else that is riding are all projected onto a screen so everyone riding can see.
I was pretty happy about my first race; i won the heat with a time of 16:41 but boy was it not easy! The other two riders finished within 10 seconds of me so it was a tough race throughout the whole time. The cool thing about these time trials are that they always use the same course so when you come back for another time trial you can compare your previous results. The next time I go I am going to be doing two time trials to see how fast my body can recover, which is a good indication on how good of shape you are in!

It's done! According to the Windows Vista Team Blog, Windows Vista has completed development.
I can't wait to see what the next version of Windows has in store for it, specifically the .NET Framework 3.0.

cambruce.com running on 2.0
Monday, September 18, 2006
I've just finished upgrading the site to run on the .net framework 2.0. There are a lot of new cool features available in 2.0 that I will be using to add some more functionality to the site as well as making it easier to maintain.
Also, I have added image validation in order to post any data to the site. This will hopefully keep all of the spam bots at bay that you've been seeing a ton of on this site lately.
I will also try to keep posting more frequently on the site since my life has been changing a lot! -Cam
